- WIP/Works In Progress
- ● WIPs are considered incomplete. This group only accepts completed works. While seeing the progress of a piece is interesting, we will not accept it.
- Incomplete Works
- ● Yet again, this group only accepts works that are finished. Incomplete works are pieces that may be considered a WIP or a piece that just will never be finished.
- Sketch Dumps
- ● This falls under the WIP/Incomplete works area. We will not accept sketch dumps as they are nothing more than what their name entitles.
- Reproductions
- ● This also covers Traces and Copies. A reproduction is a work that is a duplicate of an already existing work. As these are generally copies and traces, these are not acceptable.
- Traces
- ● A trace is when someone takes a picture that is not originally theirs and 'traces' over it, changing very little of the original image. Simply put, this is copyright infringement. If you do not have written documentation from the copyright owner, you are not permitted to use their work in any form or manner, including tracing. It gets even more nasty as this is basically plagiarism if you claim it as your own.
FAQ #8: What are violations of the deviantART copyright policy?
FAQ #157: Can I use things created by other people in my submissions?
FAQ #193: How do I prove that I had permission to use someone's work?
FAQ #257: What sort of permission do I need to use someone else's work?
FAQ #304: Do you remove copies and trace-over art?
FAQ #306: Does "Crediting" let me use whatever I want?- Copies
- ● A copy is very similar to a trace. A copy is when someone copies another person's works, but not as directly as a trace. This means someone can 'eye-ball' a piece and copy it. Copies often usually have changes made to the piece more-so than a trace. However, this can still be considered copyright infringement and plagiarism.

FAQ #306: Does "Crediting" let me use whatever I want?- Stolen Art/Art Theft
- ● This is sadly something found very common on deviantArt. And we here at ARTISTICANIMANGA will do our part to report all submissions found to be stolen. Art theft, as you guessed, is copyright infringement. You could be seeing a trend here with this term.

deviantArt Copyright Policy
deviantArt Submission Policy- Colored Manga Scans
- ● This is to take a published manga (or basically any manga) and coloring the pages like it is a coloring book. Mangas are not coloring books. And yet again, I have to state that this would be considered copyright infringement.

FAQ #306: Does "Crediting" let me use whatever I want?- Non-Collab Colored Line Art
- ● Line art coloring is great for practice and helping improve skills. However, this group will not accept colored line art. We will only accept colored line art if it is a pre-planned collaboration.
- Image Splicing/Photomanipulations
- ● Photomanipulations and image splicing are similar yet different. However, both change an image to look differently and create interesting compositions. Usually this is meant mostly for photographed images, so why are we saying it is not acceptable to this group? This is because generally these types of submissions to us (that we get) used copyrighted works. The use of stock photos, with definitive proof the sources are stock, will be permitted.

FAQ #306: Does "Crediting" let me use whatever I want?- Pixel Art
- ● When we use the term pixel art, we do not mean pixel as what basically everything on your screen is made up of. What we mean is an image, having pixels that are large enough to be individually visible from a normal viewing distance. Think back to how 8-bit videos game graphics were. While pixel art has changed since then and become more impressive, we simply do not accept pixel art. This is how deviantArt defines the pixel art gallery, "Pixel art drawing, using only the pencil tool, hand laying individual pixels one at a time, under high magnification."
- Bases/Dolls
- ● This is one of the controversial categories on deviantArt due to the new acceptance of bases. There is a large amount of bases that are clearly traces/copies of other works, most of which are produced without the copyright owner's consent. There are many wonderful base and doll makers who do 100% original creations, but since anime and manga are popular trace/copy sources for bases and dolls, we will not accept them under any circumstances, even if they are original.
FAQ #502: Can I submit things which I made using different "games" like a doll maker or with other character generators?
FAQ #557: Can I submit art which I have made using a "base" (or line art) created by someone else?- Crafts/Non-Drawn Works
- ● While there are many crafts out there that wonderfully done, we currently do not accept them. This means that anything that is not an illustration will be declined.
- Photographs/Cosplay
- ● Yet again, the focus of this group are illustrated works. Photographs and Cosplay photos are currently not acceptable.
- Memes
- ● Memes are not accepted as they are basically almost like a type of survey (some are). These are meant for fun scribblings.
- 100% Realism
- ● This is an anime/manga group, as such we do not accept realism pieces to our gallery. Semi-realism with anime/manga influences is acceptable. We define semi-realism in this way to better explain what we mean.
- Explicit Artwork
- ● Explicit works are handled differently by different people. While we accept the fact that there are some pretty explicit themes in anime/manga, we have to define what is and isn't acceptable as to how explicit a submission can be. The submission must also follow deviantArt policies.
→ Mild nudity and blood is acceptable.
→ Mild Nudity:
- The deviation must have the proper mature tag.
- The genitalia must not be in an aroused state.
- The deviation cannot be sexually suggestive.
- The deviation must be voted as tasteful by the staff reviewing the submission.
- The subject of the deviation cannot be under 18 years of age.
→ Blood:
- The deviation must not be a gore bath.
- The deviation must have a tasteful use of blood as determined by the staff reviewing the submission.
FAQ #12: deviantART doesn't allow 'Hate Art', 'Hate Speech' or 'Hate Propaganda', what is this?
FAQ #23: What are deviantART's policies on nudity?
FAQ #284: Can we submit photographs showing actual injury, self-harm and mutilation?
FAQ #565: You prohibit the submission of 'pornographic imagery'; what do you consider this to be?- Not Anime/Manga
- ● As shocking as this may be, but we are an anime/manga group and therefore shall only accept anime/manga styled works.
